Nar Phu Valley Trek

Nar Phu Valley trek is perfect one for trekkers who want to discover the Annapurna circuit as well as explore an untouched valley. And it’s only since 2003 that Nar Phu Valley was opened for visitors as a trekking destination. This trek offers you with spectacular regions of ethnically-Tibetan inhabitants. Nar Phu Valley Trek molds the trail through remote villages and unspoiled beautiful forests, narrow canyons and gompas, and unique Himalayan cultures. The entrance to the valley opens up to a huge expanse of high snowcapped peaks with ancient villages and high altitude grazing settlements though it is narrow and forested. The trails are rugged and at times cut high into side of the cliff. Historically this region was first explored by Tillman in 1950s and closed to trekkers until 2002. It takes two longs days to reach the valley from the border of Tibet.
As we venture into this remote valley of upper Mustang staying at the winter settlement of Nar, we will come to know that Nar Phu people are least affected by the action of Nepalese Government to close the borders with Tibet unlike Bhote people. This is indeed one of the most unexplored and most amazing regions in the Tibetan Buddhist world. There are about 300 inhabitants who depend on livestock. Yak herding is the basis of their livelihood even till the time. Nar Phu Valley Trek also offers fantastic views of the Annapurna ranges, Fishtail (Machhapuchhre) Mountain, Mount Manaslu, Mount Lamjung, Dhawalagiri range and Tilicho Lake. We spend number of days exploring the region and visit the remote villages of Nar and Phu as well as crossing Kang La Pass.
