Jomsom-Muktinath Trek

Jomsom Muktinath Trek is one of the popular classic lodge treks which is a part of Annapurna Circuit Trek. The diverse landscapes and cultures found along Jomsom Muktinath Trekking trail give the perfect insight into the real Nepalese rural life. Wonderful experience while walking through the deepest gorge in the world carved by Kali Gandaki River is going to be the main highlight of this trip. This trek offers you the dramatic close-up views of seventh and tenth highest peaks Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. During Jomsom Muktinath Treks, you can explore centuries old monasteries and caves. This trek takes you to the famous pilgrimage site of Muktinath which is equally reverent to both Hindus and Buddhists.
Trekkers normally continue on above Jomsom to Muktinath. Well, Muktinath is considered a sacred place of salvation for Hindus. The main shrine here is dedicated to Vishnu Temple and Buddhist Gompa. It is believed that, you get salvation after death by taking bath in the water there. So, Hindus call this place ‘Mukti Kshetra.’ Buddhists do believe that Mutinath is the place where Great Sage Guru Ringpoche (Padmasambhava) meditated at. Besides, Muktinath possesses valuable fossilized ammonites which are locally called Shaligrams. This sacred temple preserves 108 beautiful sprouts of water. As we move downhill to Jomsom, we can look around at the gateway to the ‘Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang.’ Other highlights of Jomsom Muktinath Trek are Tatopani where you can enjoy natural hotspring, Poon Hill, Kali Gandaki River, Jomsom, and so on.
