Helambu: The Sherpa Land
 
Helambu-The Sherpa Land, is also known to be one of the most easily accessible trails of all areas from Kathmandu. Helambu Valley is situated towards the north of Kathmandu which is famous for its scenic majesty and natural beauty. Helambu is an area inhabited by Sherpa people. The main difference you will notice here is that the language and culture as well as costumes of Helambu Sherpas are very different from those of Solukhumbu Sherpas. Helambu Sherpas have more Tibetan like culture and lifestyle. Helambu Trek offers you the rich Buddhist culture and favorable climate too. Here, you can enjoy the wonderful vistas of splendid snowcapped mountains. The stunning views of mountains including Langtang (7245m), Ganesh Himal (7405m), Dorje Lakpa (6990m), Gaurishankar and other small mountains of the Langtang range can allure anyone visiting this region.
As Helambu Valley is mostly inhabited by the Sherpa and Tamang people, you get the chance to explore their unique culture and lifestyle. Helambu trek can best offer you to explore the Hyolmo culture of High mountain people. The main highlights of the trek include many majestic waterfalls and magnificent mountains blended in the Buddhist Himalayan culture.
Sundarijal, which is the north east corner of Kathmandu Valley, is the starting point for Helambu Trek. We then climb up through the Shivapuri National Park to the Shivapuri Ridge from where you can observe the gorgeous views of Ganesh Himal, Gaurishankar Himal and Langtang Lirung among others. We will be passing through various mountain viewpoints like Hylmo, Kutumsang, and Goth along with the beautiful alpine meadows and green lush forests of rhododendrons and bamboo. The Helambu Trek also lets you experience the ambiance and culture of some delightful villages like Melamchigaon, Sermathang, and Tarke Ghyang.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon reaching at Kathmandu, the representatives from our company receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport and then transfer you to the hotel. You stay overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley
You will have full day guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley today. We will mainly cover world-famous World Heritage Sites situated at Kathmandu including: Pashupatinath Temple (one of the holiest temple of Lord Buddha), Bauddhanath Stupa (one of the oldest and largest Buddhist Monasteries in Nepal), Swayambhunath Temple (popularly known as Monkey Temple among foreigners), and Kathmandu Durbar Square among others. We stay overnight at tented camp.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, then trek to Chisapani (2300m)
We drive to Sundarijal from Kathmandu today. Actually, Sundarijal is the starting point of Helambu Trek. From Sudarijal, we trek to Chisapani. On the way, we trek along a small hydroelectric plant. Our trail then enters into the Shivapuri National Park. We can then observer the Tamang settlement in Mulkharka. Walk further will eventually take us to Chisapani where we spend overnight.

Day 04: Trek from Chisapani to Kutumsang (2446m)
We head for the journey to Kutumsang today. So, after taking our morning breakfast, we start with a descent crossing meadows and fields. We will enjoy the magnificent views of the Langtang on the way. We eventually arrive at Pathi Bhanjyang and Gul Bhanjyang from where we further climb the ridge to another pass. Walking downhill for some time will bring us to Kutumsang where we spend overnight.

Day 05: Trek from Kutumsang to Thadepati (3650m)
Today, we climb above Kutumsang on a steep trail mostly through the forest of fir and rhododendron. Our trek continues to Yurin Danda with the magnificent views of Himalayas. We eventually arrive at Thadepati where we stay overnight.

Day 06: Trek from Thadepati to Tarkeghyang (2560m)
Today, we enter the Helambu Region and walk up to Tarke Gyang. We can explore and enjoy the local Sherpa Culture with traditional village and monasteries. We stay overnight at Tarke Gyang.

Day 07: Trek from Tarkeghyang to Sermathang (2610m)
We have to cross the forest with the view of beautiful village of Helambu region today. Our trail makes a sweep around the wide valley end between Parachin and the pretty Sherpa village of Gangyul. We eventually reach at Sermathang where we stay overnight.

Day 08: Trek from Sermathang to Melamchi Pul Bazaar, then drive to Kathmandu
Today, we walk down to Melamchi Pul Bazaar with many Sherpa village and catch the transport to Kathmandu. Upon your Kathmandu arrival, you can take your time for the last minute shopping. In the evening, we celebrate the farewell dinner with our trekking crew. We stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 09: Final Departure
After completing your rewarding trip in Nepal, you are going to leave Nepal today. Our company representative will transfer you to the airport for your final departure. We will be returning to your hometown today.
