Beautiful Laya Trek

Laya trek is one of the most interesting and beautiful trek at the Bhutan. This trek will offer us great view of the MT. Jhomulhari. Similarly, the trek will also offer us great view of the Jichu Drake along with the marvelous view of the great tiger mountain. Trekking at the Laya Gasa region will enables the trekkers to view the marvelous view of the high mountains including the wonderful sceneries of the villages of the trekking route. While trekking at this trail we may see many beautiful forests where we can see several types of animals roaming here and there. The animals like blue sheep, deer along with different types of birds. Similarly, the trekking through the settlements of the nomadic people will provides us much more experience and knowledge about the local people and their tradition. The trekking at the beautiful lake Laya and gas will be very impressive and well as important for those trekkers who have knowledge about the medicinal herbs as the trekkers can see numerous numbers of medicinal herbs during the trek.

We need to trek through several pasturelands and meadows where local people used to graze their yaks. The main way of living of the local people of these regions is by producing different types of products from the yak and its milk and by selling the medicinal herbs available at the local territory while walking at the main route; we can see many beautiful springs. Therefore the trekking at the Laya Gasa is considered as one of the best trekking at Bhutan.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu
When your flight will be landed at the international airport of Nepal, you will be received by the representative of the Frontline Tours & Travels. He will guide you towards one of the best hotel of Kathmandu to take rest for the leisure time. Later on, we will enjoy the delicious breakfast at the local hotels.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Paro
From Kathmandu we will catch the Druk air to reach at the Paro airport viewing the scenic beauty from the flight. We can view the spectacular beauty f the Bhutan from the flight before landing. After landing at the Bhutan, we will be guided towards the hotels. The journey will be beautiful while walking through the clean and fresh environment. We will take rest for several hours at the hotel room. After having the lunch, we can visit around the market area where we can buy some magnificent things that we may like.

Day 03: Paro to Shana
We will drive towards the Drukgyal Dzong. From here, the road will ends and then we will begin our trekking towards the Shana. We will follow the river viewing the wonderful view of the cultivated fields of the region. We can see numerous number of farm houses while trekking at this route. The night will be at the altitude of 2800m. The trekking goes for about 5 to 6 hours through the mian trail.

Day 04: Shana to Thangthangkha

From Shana, we will continue to move towards the uphill of the region following the river valley. After the initial climb for several hours, the trail goes steeply downwards. The trekking route goes through several meadows. The night will be at Thangthangkha at the altitude of 3400m above sea level. Today, we trek for about 7 to 8 hours through the main trail.

Day 05: Thangthangkha to Jangothang
From the Thangthangkha, we will follow the Paro River. While trekking at this region, we can clearly see the beautiful view of the high ridges and snow capped mountains. The trekking route will passes through several yak herder's homes. We will continue to trek until we will reach at the Jangothang. The night will be at the elevation of 4040m.

Day 06: Jangothang to Lingshi
From the Jangothang, our trekking route will follow the beautiful pasturelands. We can also view some yak grazing at these lands. While moving down to the Lingshi basin, we can see some of the beautiful views of the Lingshi Dzong. We will stay the night at the Lingshi at the altitude of 4150m.

Day 07: Lingshi to Chebisa
From the Lingshi, we will trek towards the beautiful region of Chebisa following the main trail. The walking trail of the day is quiet easy as comparison to the earlier. After walking for about 3 to 4 hours, we will reach at the Chebisa at the altitude of 3850m above sea level. The night will be at Chebisa at tented camp.

Day 08: Chebisa to Shomuthang
From Chebisa, we will walk through the pasturelands towards the Gobu la pass at the altitude of 4350m. Then we will descend down the valley. We will reach at the campsite at the Shomuthang. We will enjoy the night at the bank of the river at the altitude of 4260m.

Day 10: Shomuthang to Robluthang
From the Shomuthang, our trekking legs will guide us towards the Robluthang. The trekking trail is little strenuous thus, the day should be stared early in the morning. We will walk towards the Jerela pass at the altitude of 4600m above sea level. Then the trekking route will begin to decline towards the Tsharijathang valley. We will stay the night at the Robluthang at the altitude of 4390m above sea level after trekking for about 6 to 7 hours.

Day 11: Robluthang to Lingmithang
From the Robluthang we will begin to hike towards the Shingela pass at the altitude of 4900m above sea level. Then then the trekking trail will lead us towards the Lingmithang which lies under the Laya district. We can enjoy the great tradition and culture of the local people of these surroundings. The night will be at Lingmithang after the trekking of about 6 to 7 hours.

Day 12: Trek to Laya
From the Lingmithang, our trekking trail will lead us towards the beautiful region of Laya. We will walk the narrow trekking trail. The trekking trail will lead us towards the west side of the Laya village. The night will be at the tented camp at the altitude of 3850m above sea level after the trekking for about 3 to 4 hours.

Day 13: Laya to Koena
From Laya, we will walk down to the beautiful valley and riverside viewing the wonderful sceneries of the surroundings. We may find several obstacles at the way but we have to move forwards ignoring them. After walking for about 6 to 7 hours through the main trail we will reach at the Koena where we will spend our night. Koena is at the altitude of 3800m.

Day 14: Trek to Gasa
From the Koena, we will cross the Babela pass at the altitude of the 3740m above sea level. We need to trek for about 6 to 7 hours through the main trekking trail. We will enjoy the night at the altitude of 2900m at Gasa.

Day 15: Gasa to Punakha (Hot spring)
Gasa is popular due to the natural hot water spring of this place. We can relax at the hot spring water at the Gasa and after that we have to continue our trail towards the Punakha. The driving trail is very interesting and beautiful too. We will drive until we will reach at the Punakha. The night will be spectacular at the Punakha at one of the lodges.

Day 16: Punakha to Thimpu

From the Punakha, we will drive towards the Thimpu. On the way, we can see several villages including the Metshina village viewing the wonderful view of the cultivated area of the regions. We can spectacular view of the high mountains while moving towards the Thimpu. The night will be at Thimpu enjoying with friends.

Day 17: Thimpu to Paro
From Thimpu, we will drive towards the Paro. We can see the beautiful view of the statue of the Buddha which may be under construction. The night will be at Paro enjoying with the friends.

Day 18: Paro to Kathmandu
From Paro, we will take the returning flight back to the Kathmandu. We will be landed at the international airport and will head towards the hotel for the rest of the day. We can also visit at the city area of Kathmandu valley.

Day 19: Farewell
Today is the farewell day. We will wake up early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding. After having the refreshing breakfast, we will walk towards the airport. We will be entertained by the small farewell program organized at the airport by the Frontline Tours & Travels. Then you will catch the respective flight to return back to your own country.
